City Restricts Watering Hours, Offers Cooling Centerm

Help the city maintain its water reserves by following the newest set of regulations during this week's heatwave.

Beginning Thursday, July 21, and until further notice, the City of Oak Forest is limiting outside water use to the hours between 7 and 11 p.m. on odd or even dates based on property addresses.

“Although current reserves are still holding up, the extended hot weather coupled with high demand can impact the reserves,” said Mayor Hank Kuspa. “The increased restrictions will help us to maintain a safe and healthy water supply for residents and ensure our fire protection resources are sufficient.”

Also, please be advised that City Hall is a cooling center during the heat wave. We encourage you to try to limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of fluids, and check on neighbors, friends and relatives. And, remember, do not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles under any circumstances for any length of time.
