A Nice Ring to It: Chris Medina Pops Question to Man's 'Swedy'

A fan requested a personal serenade from Chris Medina, to the man's girlfriend—with a very special question tagged on to the end.

Since his rise to, singer and former American Idol contestant Chris Medina has received all kinds of requests from fans, from signing CDs, to Facebook and Twitter shout-outs, to autographing shirts and posing for photos.

One recent request from a Swedish fan made Medina a little nervous. The fan, Lars, asked if Medina would serenade his girlfriend Emma over the phone, with his song 'What Are Words.' After singing the last note from the dressing room of a Swedish radio station, would Medina ask Emma if she would do Lars the honor of being his wife?

Medina played an acoustic version of the single, which depicts his love and commitment to fiancé Juliana Ramos, who continues to recover from a Traumatic Brain Injury she suffered in a serious car accident in October 2009. Following Medina's appearance on Idol, people worldwide embraced the couple, known for their deep love and devotion to each other. The song symbolizes ultimate commitment to another person, beyond spoken word. Some couples have used the song as the first dance at their wedding. Dance groups and amateur artists around the globe have performed the single, which is included on his . It was also featured on Denmark's version of Dancing with the Stars.
