With a new Metra station coming to Oak Forest, what about the area surrounding it? PNC Bank is set to close in April. What should go there?

When former Mayor JoAnn Kelly pitched the Gateway Project in early 2007, she contended it would bring 50,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space, along with 80 residential units to .

Officials hoped the project at the northwest corner of 159th Street and Cicero would provide the community with a transit-oriented development at the Metra commuter rail line. Kelly said it could greatly enhance the city's tax base, and attract additional businesses to Cicero Avenue.

Five years later, a and a PNC Bank occupy some of the Gateway space. But PNC recently announced it will close in April, transferring customers to its Tinley Park branch. The , with construction beginning in spring.
