Teen Club Owner Wants to Go Country, Hopes You'll Love This Bar

Would a country bar and grill be a good addition to 159th Street?

The interior of Oxygen Teen Nite Club could be transformed into a saloon.
The interior of Oxygen Teen Nite Club could be transformed into a saloon.
The doors of a vacant teen nite club  might soon swing open again—but as a country saloon.

Jamie Marcanio, who opened Oxygen Teen Nite Club last year, has a new idea for the space at 5200 W. 159th St.

Marcanio, who also owns other suburban Chicago businesses, including At the Office Sports Bar and Grill in Crestwood, would like to reopen as a country-themed bar and grill.

Marcanio has joined with other investors in the attempt to reinvent the space, including the addition of outdoor seating, said Oak Forest Community Development Director Adam Dotson.

The group submitted plans last week, and will have to go before the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council before moving ahead with the concept.

This would only be successful if it was away from the intended location, it's not going to work next to the trailer park, needs to go farther west near old car dealership
