Our Troops Need Fudge, And You Can Make That Happen

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Orland Park will ship a pound of fudge to the troops for every pound you buy. What are you waiting for?

Let's fudge one for the troops. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Orland Square Mall will ship a pound of fudge to U.S. troops overseas for every pound of fudge purchased in July.

With less than a week left in the month, 33 pounds of fudgy delight is set to packed and mailed, according to the "Fudge Count" board in the Orland Park store Thursday evening. (I snapped this photo right before I bought pound 33.)

A pound will run you about $20 and 1,800 calories. (That seems suspiciously low to me.)

Orland Park's Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory shop features chocolate fudge, chocolate Oreo fudge, chocolate peanut butter fudge, vanilla peanut butter fudge, double chocolate fudge ... well, pretty much all of your decadent fudges. The franchise is owned by Bruce and Jean Kuhn.

Let's see if we can't run that tally up.
