Chris Medina Hits the Norwegian Media Circuit

Having just landed in Oslo, Norway Thursday, Medina is already making the rounds of radio stations before his scheduled performances.

In Oak Forest, Chris Medina is the hometown hero. He's the guy you bump into at Blarney Stone Pub, who breaks out his acoustic guitar for an on-the-spot performance.

In Norway, he's a chart-topping, best-selling artist.

During his nearly two-week stay in Norway, Chris Medina and his band The Able Body will perform two shows—one before an audience of 100,000. His band The Able Body joins him for The School's Out Festival June 10, and again for the VG Lista Top 20 Show on June 17. His arrival was much-anticipated by thousands of fans whom he hopes will sing along with him to his single What Are Words.

One reporter asked Medina why he thought so many Norwegians have been touched by his single—a number 1 hit on Norway iTunes charts.

"Maybe it's just the right formula," Medina told VGTV reporter Catherine Gonsholt Ighanian. "The people understand my story, and when they hear the song, they hear the words, they know that I'm singing about something that's real. Maybe they can hear that I'm singing from my heart, from my soul. I gave it everything I have."

"She's an angel here on earth," Medina told Ighanian, of fiancé Juliana Ramos. "She inspires so many people. She inspires me. It's so important for me to be doing this. She's so proud of me, and I'm proud of her. We feed off of each other."
