Weekly Patch-up: Tin Man, Medina Mania, and a Car-Free Cicero
"Medina Mania' may have taken over for some, but Patch had plenty of other news from the Oak Forest community, for the week of Feb. 7–13.
Two weeks ago, it was Blizzard 2011 that whirred into Oak Forest. Last week, there was a phenomenon of a different sort — .
In case you tend to block out all things Idol, let Patch fill you in. The community has kept a close eye on their local American Idol favorite , as he cruised out of the audition phase, into the first Hollywood round, then whisked through that one, right into the next.
But there's been plenty of big news besides Idol since our last Patch-up session.

- On Monday, big news on the Patch end of things! Patch parent company AOL announced plans to acquire the Huffington Post.
- Also on Monday, Patch reported that Gov. Quinn has told press he'll reflect on the future of 15 inmates currently on Illinois' Death Row, including former Oak Forest resident Paul Runge. If Quinn signs the death penalty ban currently on his desk, it would not apply to the 15 currently on Death Row, leaving their fates in Quinn's hands.
