This Week's Pet: Cuddly Husky, Shepherd Mix Koda Could Use a New Partner for Fetch

This German Shepherd, Husky mix is a happy, lively 6 years old—and would make a great addition to your home.

Koda is a big furball of love.

The 6-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix came to PAWS in October, and after a brief trial in a new home, was returned to the shelter.

Now he's looking for a second chance.

The black and tan, medium-size dog is lively, quiet, and friendly. When Patch visited, he was busy mingling with the dog in the neighboring cage, ears alert, and tail wagging. He knows basic commands like "sit" and "down" and enjoyed a brief game of fetch with Patch.

While each dog is different, German Shepherds are typically known as loyal family pets and good guard dogs—the ideal choice for many families. The breed is distinguished by its direct and fearless, but not hostile, expression and nature. Koda's other component, the Siberian Husky, is known for its agreeable and outgoing temperament, as well as its work ethic. Both breeds enjoy regular exercise and grooming.
