The Most Patriotic House on the Block

Check out how one Oak Forest couple decorated their home for the Fourth of July.

Flags? Lights? Banners? These homeowners might have you topped.

Danielle Scaccia and Daniel Matys took their show of patriotism to a deeper level this July 4.

Their home near Albert Drive and Central Avenue in Oak Forest is adorned with traditional decorations—but with the extra touch of stars lovingly spray-painted on, dotting their lawn. At dark, the scene is illuminated by a blue spotlight.

Does their home take top prize for most patriotic on the block?

I love it! I wish more people had a sense of patriotism. I also wish patriotism was something people felt and practiced more than once or twice a year! I don't know these homeowners, but am thankful for their hard work and display!

Nice. Too bad most people on my block don't fly the American flag. I fly my the flag all year. Some people on Sycamore lane in Oak forest have never put up a American Flag. They take their freedom for granted. This is very sad. On Memorial Day you would think you would see a American Flag on every house, to honor our military, for ones that have fought for us to keep us free and give us the freedom to worship all religions. But no! The sad thing people don't care. Even the Oak forest fireman on this block does not fly a flag. Very sad and very lazy.
