We chatted with Oak Forest Police Chief Greg Anderson, before the 5K started. Cicero Avenue is staffed with community service officers, squad cars and firefighters. Anderson said he's not expecting any problems, but that he likes to be prepared with staff on-hand. They'll be keeping an eye on traffic control, especially during the parade.

Patch hears that last year it was nearly standing room only at Blarney, but it's still pretty tame right now. The green is starting to flood the place. Outside, the 5K is trickling by. Patch is stoked for the tricycle race here at 10 a.m.! The sun's out, and when the wind dies down, it's pleasant. But Patch hears the wind's not going anywhere.

Turns out you can't live-blog and walk in a parade at the same time. We had a blast in the parade, and we were so excited to see how many of you recognized Patch.com! We're stationed back in Blarney Stone, tucked into a table in the front tent, by the Old Style vendor. Come see us, and look for more photos and video from the parade throughout the day!
