St. Damian Principal, Students Sprint for Special Breakfast Break
St. Damian Principal Colleen Domke and a group of students will hit the pavement together before the school day begins Tuesday, May 31.
St. Damian Principal Colleen Domke will throw on her running shoes and hit the road Tuesday, May 31—with her students right alongside her.
Domke and her running partners will trek from St. Damian, at 155th and Long, to Kingsberry Waffle House, 5420 159th St., at the start of the school day, stopping at the restaurant for a special breakfast made especially for the kids, Domke said. The run is the prize students' families bid on at an earlier fundraiser, she said.
After they've dined on pancakes and other breakfast goodies, Domke and the kids will trot back to St. Damian, where classmates will be waiting with a finish line.
