Snow’s Not Over Yet: Overnight Storm Warning Issued

Oak Forest might be in the crosshairs of a particularly nasty snowstorm.

Tuesday morning rush hour could be a game of snow roulette, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A “heavy band” of lake effect snow is forecast to hit southeastern Cook County until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, including Oak Forest.

But there’s a catch.

The National Weather Service says the snowfall region will be less than 10 miles wide, so conditions can vary dramatically in a short distance. The heaviest hit areas could get 6 to 12 inches of snowfall.

Temperatures are also expected to plummet and “dangerously cold wind chills” may exist.
