Residents Asked to Pitch in with Toys For Tots Program

Oak Forest Police are hosting a Toys for Tots program from now until Dec. 15 at Oak Forest City Hall. A collection bin for toys can be found just outside the city council room.

As the holiday season creeps closer, the Oak Forest Police Department is gearing up to help out children in need with its Toys for Tots program.

The program, which kicked off Oct. 9 in Oak Forest and will run until Dec. 15, is designed to bring a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters, inspiring them that to become responsible, productive, patriotic citizens, according to the program's website.

During the months of October, November and through Dec. 15, a toy collection bin will be set up at the Oak Forest City Hall, 15440 S. Central Ave., where unwrapped toys can be placed for distribution.
