Oak Forest Patch Editor Lauren Traut ventured to the Field Museum Friday, May 13, to talk dresses, shoes, and tuxes with the school's prom-goers.

Technically, there was no red carpet lining the hallway into the Field Museum Friday, May 13.

The students could have passed for celebrities, with dames in dresses that flowed down to the ground, or full and bustled. Some gents went with pin stripes (black tux or white), with accents of their own like a cane to punctuate their swagger into the venue.

*Special thanks to Jim Traut, brother of Patch Editor Lauren Traut, for manning the camera during the interviews. Heels make the quick switch from anchor to camerawoman difficult, and I appreciate your help!
