Oak Forest's Gaelic Park, Hotel Staff Member Honored

Gaelic Park and Denise Sisler were both honored by the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, as Member of the Year and Food and Beverage Employee of the Year. The pair were honored at an Oct. 17 awards luncheon.

The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau recently held its annual members luncheon and awards ceremony at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn and Oak Forest was well represented in the awards department.

Oak Forest business staple and hot spot Gaelic Park took home top honors as the bureau’s member of the year, something that Gaelic Park General Manager Marian Ryan said wasn't expected.

“We're very thrilled,” she said. “It was a total surprise. I was just surprised and thrilled about the whole thing.”

Ryan said that Gaelic Park won the award for its, “dedicated service and contribution to promote the regional tourism and hospitality industry.”

Gaelic Park wasn't alone in bringing home some hardware to Oak Forest, as Denise Sisler took home the award for 2012 Food and Beverage Employee of the Year.

Sisler won the award for her outstanding work at the Best Western Plus Chicago Southland in Oak Forest.
