Oak Forest Rounds Up Local Electronics for Recycling

Oak Forest residents recycled old or unused electronics Saturday, Oct. 26—and the total amount needed to be hauled right out of the parking lot of City Hall.

Oak Forest residents cleaned out their homes of unused electronics—and it was enough to fill a semi-truck.

The Oak Forest Green Steps Commission teamed up with Vintage Tech to collect residents' old electronics Saturday, Oct. 26, and more than 300 cars pulled into the drop-off at City Hall, according to the Oak Forest Facebook page.

The collection also filled a 26-foot straight truck, in addition to the semi. Recycled items inclued computers, keyboards, monitors, cell phones, MP3 players, printers, stereo equipment, CD/VCR/DVD players, fax machines, PDAs, video game consoles, CRTs/LCDs, microwaves, computer mice.
