Oak Forest Honors Its Veterans

With a short, simple, poignant ceremony, the City of Oak Forest's Veterans Commission paid homage to those who have fought for our country.

It was short and sweet, but powerful. The Veterans Commission held a brief ceremony to honor local veterans at the city's Veterans Memorial Saturday, Nov. 12.

Commission Chair Craig Miller led the program, which included a 21-gun salute, a prayer for veterans, a moment of silence and a role call of local servicemen killed in action.
