Oak Forest Closings: What's Shut Down, Delayed Tuesday
Patch keeps you up to date on the businesses and other institutions that have been called off because of below-zero temperatures.
The extreme cold temperatures have caused closing and cancellations Monday, Jan 6, around Oak Forest.
The following places have officially called off or postponed activities for Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Patch will continue to update the list throughout the day.
Businesses
- GiGi's Playhouse: The agency will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 7, because of snow drifts covering the sidewalks.
- Chicago Gaelic Park: Women's Little Christmas, which was scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6, has been rescheduled to Jan. 31.
Other Institutions
Acorn Public Library: The library will open at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Oak Forest Park District: The district's Central Park Building and Fitness Center will be open Tuesday, Jan. 7, but the Don Gorman Fieldhouse will be closed. The following activities also are canceled:
- FunTime
- Little Tykes
- Yoga
- Fitness Express
- HeadStart Gymnastics
- Tumbling
- Wrestling
- Women's Volleyball
- Mini-Cheer Team
- Dance programs
- Parent & Tot Gymnastics
Schools
- Consolidated High School District 230: Classes, as well as before and after-school activities will be canceled Tuesday, Jan. 7.
- Community Consolidated School District 146: Classes canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 7. All after-school activities will also be cancelled.
- Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142: Classes canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 7. All after-school activities will also be cancelled.
- Prairie Hills Elementary School District 144: Classes canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 7. All after-school activities will also be cancelled.
- Bremen High School District 228: Classes canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 7. All after-school activities will also be cancelled.
- Arbor Park School District 145: Classes canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 7. All after-school activities will also be cancelled.
- St. Damian School
- Hope Montessori (Tinley Park)
- St. George School (Tinley Park)
- Trinity Lutheran School (Tinley Park)
- St. Christopher School (Midlothian)
- Christian Hills School (Orland Hills)
