Medina Slotted for 'The Tonight Show' Friday

The local favorite who was ousted from 'American Idol' before reaching the top 24 will perform on Jay Leno's show Friday night, according to TVSquad.com.

Updated, 5:53 p.m. — Medina's single "What are Words" is now available on iTunes.

The fans who couldn't wait to see Chris Medina each week won't have to wait long for the curly-haired crooner to appear again on their screen.

The local favorite will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Friday night, and with Leno's band behind him, he'll debut the single "What Are Words," which was written for him and inspired by his love story with Juliana Ramos, TVSquad.com reports. The song, which was written and produced by Rodney Jerkins, will be available on iTunes tonight, after tonight's episode of American Idol .
