Kimberly Heights Kindergartners Want Your Spare Change

Patch stopped by Kimberly Heights to talk to the kindergartners about what they wish for the people in Joplin, as they gather change to donate to the cause.

What would a group of kindergartners miss most if a tornado struck their homes?

For some, it was stuffed animals. For others, their TV. Still others, their clothes.

Whatever they would miss most, the kids at Kimberly Heights want to help those who actually lost their homes and belongings. This week they're scrounging up loose change for donation to the victims of the Joplin tornado.

"Because all their toys and clothes, the tornado took them all away," said student Rocco C.

"Because all their horses are broken down from tornadoes," said Taylor Rossberg.

"The kids lost their stuffed animals and their beds, blankets and desks, and their books," said Marie Kerkstra.

The kindergartners at Kimberly Heights will take your spare change and turn it into charity. The little ones, under the leadership of teacher Ann Kozicki, are collecting any and all change through Friday, for donation to the victims of the Joplin tornado. The collection started Tuesday, and by Wednesday the students had collected $50.
