Heading Over to Taste of Orland? Let Orland Park Patch Be Your Guide

Orland Park Patch has the skinny on where to fatten up this weekend at Taste of Orland—complete with photos that will make your mouth water.

If they cook it, you will come. At least, that's what Patch is betting.

The 17 featured restaurants at Taste of Orland Park have some sweet snacks in store for the thousands expected to visit this weekend. Orland Park Patch Editor Ben Feldheim and his fellow Patch editors sampled bits of each—(the things they do for you, readers)—and compiled a guide to the veritable smorgasbord.

Need to know where to start? Loosen your belt buckle and get ready to dive in. Consider Patch's guide your menu for the event. Check out the offerings, (prices included at ) and then head out to the Taste! Look for Part III coming tomorrow.

Southwest Egg Rolls to Watermelon Lemonade

On your marks, get set—fast! Part one of OP Patch's dining guide features Baby's Steak and Lemonade, Burrito Jalisco, Cafe Gaston, Cooper's Hawk, Culvers and El Pueblito. Baby's and El Pueblito are newcomers to the Orland Days scene, joining the veterans in the line-up. You're going to want to skip a few meals to make room for the cheese steak, fajitas, burritos, chicken bow tie pasta and chocolate-covered strawberries (just to mention a few).

Patch's Taste of Orland Dining Guide, Part II
From Teriyaki Beef Skewers to Cake in a Cup

Cake in a cup? Really? Well, why not? So don't stuff yourself on sweet and sour chicken from Mo's Chinese Chicken, or fried shrimp from Heine's, OR mini corned beef sandwiches from Sam McGuire's. Oberweis will be on-hand to offer their sweet treats of sundaes, root beer floats and ice cream sandwiches. Palermo's will slice and serve their pizza, and Orland Park Bakery will take cake, and put it in a cup.

Admit it: you're starving already. And if you're not, maybe this will help. Check out the next installment of the Patch photo gallery, featuring a heaping helping of each dish mentioned above.

Patch's Taste of Orland Dining Guide, Part III
From Deep Fried Cheesecake to Mini Burgers

If nothing's making your stomach growl yet, maybe this will help. Try out pizza slices or a buffalo chicken wrap from Old Town Pizza Co. (there's more, too), or maybe Papa Joe's chicken tetrazini. The Plaza Cafe will dish out chicken/pork shishkabob, Rock Bottom will sell pretzels with spinach dip. Pompei will feature an eggplant parmesan sandwich and more. For a complete menu of the day's offerings, check out Orland Park Patch.
