In a time of high unemployment and when many are just struggling to get by, a recent food drive brought in 13,850 lbs. of food for the Food Pantry. The posted the note to its Facebook page earlier today.

The gains came from the National Association of Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 12.

Both locally and across the country, people were asked to place non-perishable food items in a bag and leave it in the mailbox. Letter carriers than picked up the pages and took them to local food banks and pantries.
