Facebook Feedback on Blizzard 2011: How Has Public Works Done on Oak Forest Streets?

Patch asked for reader feedback on how Public Works has done with cleaning up in Oak Forest. Here's what our Facebook fans had to say.

Public works employees and plow drivers worked in shifts around the clock Tuesday night and Wednesday to clean up the heaps of snow dumped on Oak Forest streets.

Oak Forest Patch asked Facebook fans to rank the department's cleanup efforts, on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being the worst driving experience, 5 meaning streets were as passable as they could be under the circumstances.

Here's what fans have had to say so far. Agree? Disagree? Tell us in the comments, or pipe up on our Facebook page.

  • Wendy Master: They kept up, I give them a 5.
  • Michelle Walker Sopko: They did a great job! We all need to keep in mind the amount of snow we got and the amount of snow plows on the street. It takes time and they did a great job! Thank you Public Works! I give 'em a 6!
  • Ellen DeSpain: I haven't been out on the streets yet since school's been closed but judging by our street, they did a great job under these circumstances. Also, thanks to Oak Forest for the automated calls!
  • Jaime Gall-Sawicki: I think they did a good job considering how bad that storm was.
  • Kimberly Colbert StMarie: They did a great job. I work in Oak Brook and the roads here [Oak Brook] were not done as well.
  • Mark Hanson: The city did a fantastic job clearing the snow. Thank you streets/public works!!
  • Patti Mullen McGoldrick: I think they did a fabulous job considering the amount of snow we got! Hats off to public works! Without you we would still be stuck in our houses!
