Don't Forget: Oak Forest Farmers Market Set for Tuesday

Head over to the Oak Forest Park District for a one-time only farmers market, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Need some veggies or spices for dinner tonight? How about fresh dressings or marinades?

Skip the grocery store, and head to the instead.

The will host this one-time-only event Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with hopes of garnering enough support to bring it back on a weekly basis next year. This year's event will feature 26 vendors, and the park district needs residents' support to keep them coming back next year. The market will be held at the south end of the parking lot, at the main park district building.

"The recurring theme we've heard is that the vendors give you one try," said Oak Forest Park District Commissioner Joe Conway. "If the foot traffic's not there, they won't come back."
