SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE TO HOST “SALUTE TO VETERANS” INFORMATIONAL EVENT

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–South Suburban College (SSC) will be hosting a “Salute to Veterans” informational event on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.  The event is designed to provide current veteran students and prospective veteran students with a wide range of information regarding veterans’ benefits, financial aid, SSC programs and services, and more. 

Additionally, the Illinois Mobile Veteran Center will be on hand for the day.  The Mobile Veteran Center is the Department of Veterans Affairs latest effort to reach under-served veteran populations to discuss all matters with veterans and their families with the strictest of confidentiality.  The Mobile Vet Center can access VA records on a secure system and can offer a variety of referrals.

The event will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a keynote address from Illinois Veteran and State Senator Michael Hastings in the Performing Arts Center.

•        Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs

•        STAR Truck Driving School

•        SSC programs and services
