Oak Forest HS's Johnston Places First at SSC Video Competition

Oak Forest High School Senior Krista Johnston took First Place in Live Multi-Camera Program, at the Seventh Annual South Suburban Video Competition.  Johnston won the award for her directing talents while directing District 228 Got Talent starring The Posers.  “It was fun,” Johnston said. “[As a director], I sat in the studio and looked at shots and told the camera men through the headset what shots to take and to zoom in, etc.  We got some awesome shots and it turned out really well!  I was so surprised we won First Place!”  In addition to directing, Johnston has also served as the executive news producer and the anchor for Oak Forest High School news on Bremen District 228 Television.

Bremen District 228 Television is a program produced by the Communication Arts and Technology Program offered to all students in District 228 at Bremen High School in Midlothian.

Johnston loves the class and feels that it is preparing her well for college, where she intends to be a Biblical studies major and communication arts minor at Indian Bible College in Indianapolis, IN.  “My teacher pushed us to make it more like a college course.  Now at the end of the year, I feel more prepared for college.”
