Oak Forest HS Wrestling Coach Named SSC Coach of the Year

Oak Forest High School Athletic Director Ron Towner announced that Wrestling Coach Shawn Forst was named the “Coach of the Year” by the head wrestling coaches of the SSC.

He is a very modest coach, but there is no denying that the Oak Forest High School Wrestling Team enjoyed a great deal of success last year.  They were 17-3 in dual meets, undefeated in Conference, and also won the Conference tournament.

Mr. Forst is very proud of sending six wrestlers to State at the culmination of last year’s season.  They were:  Danny Swan, Francis Edelen, Mousa Jodeh, Patrick Kristin, Jimmy Kluk and Alec Brown.  At State, Alec Brown placed fourth and Danny Swan placed first.  Forst said, “It was an amazing experience.  The whole coaching staff is proud of the boys.”

This year, Mr. Forst has noted that his wrestlers are very focused on doing well at the State level as a team.  “It should be an exciting year for Bengal wrestling,” Mr. Forst said. “The coaching staff and the wrestlers are looking forward to a fun season.”
