Oak Forest HS Teachers Jam Out at Faculty Jam Band Concert

Oak Forest High School teachers are sick of snow and shoveling.  What better way to escape their winter blues than to enjoy the melodic sounds of the newly formed Faculty Jam Band.

This is the question that Faculty Jam band leader, art teacher and avid musician Dan Chambers, posed to interested faculty members.  “Our purpose is to lighten up, loosen up, have fun and entertain,” Chambers said.  And to fit that purpose, Chambers recruited a hearty band of brave musicians including Music teachers Victor Pazik on keyboards and Nick Rojek on trumpet, Security Officer Will Thomas on bass guitar, Family and Consumer Science teacher Mark Furstenau on drums, Physical Ed teacher Kieran Byrne on acoustic guitar and Science teacher Dawn Sasek and Spanish teacher Amanda Brown on vocals.

They performed after a recent staff Institute Day.  Their concert, which was five songs long, included:  Dan Chambers sang “Heroes” by David Bowie, followed by Dawn Sasek singing a knockout rendition of “Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin.  Kieran Byrne then took the stage with “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker, followed by Victor Pazik singing “Color my World” by Chicago.  Amanda Brown sang “One Hand in my Pocket” by Alannis Morrissette.
