Oak Forest HS Students Learn the Art of Juggling

Oak Forest High School Academic and Talented Program students participated in a juggling demonstration last week.  The presentation, called “Something Ridiculous” featured two stuntmen jugglers, Mark Wilder and Von Jon.  The slapstick duo stressed during the performance that being active and athletic is incredibly fun and being different is pretty awesome.  During the performance, Wilder and Jon juggled everything from bowler hats, juggling pins, and dangerous looking daggers.  They also rode unicycles and balanced on free-standing ladders.  Wilder said, “Juggling can make your brain grow because it activates both sides of the brain.”  Two students learned about the exacting nature of the duo’s juggling skills.  Oak Forest High School Junior Creshaun Slaughter and Senior Emily Lorusso endured juggling pins being thrown in front of them and behind them.  The students survived to laugh at more silly antics later on in the presentation.
