Oak Forest HS Speech Team Preparing for Regional Tournament

The Oak Forest High School Speech team is practicing hard in preparation for their Speech Regionals at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island.

Students have been performing at speech meets since November.  One of the most notable speech meets the team has performed in was the South Suburban Varsity Conference Tournament at Argo High School.  The Speech Team placed 2nd in the Blue Division.

At the Varsity Conference tournament, Junior Paul Burghard was the top-ranked novice in Extemporaneous speaking.  Amanda Beall and Matthew Lubaton had 3rd Place rankings in Poetry Reading.  Newcomer Sophomore Lindsay Sikorski also had a 3rd Place ranking in Prose Reading.  Lindsay Sikorski and Dawn Lubaton had a 2nd Place ranking in Dramatic Duet Acting.

Helping the Speech team to prepare for the Regional Tournament is Head Coach Kevin Farrell and Assistant Coaches Jim Wallace and Steve Batsch.
