Oak Forest HS Hispanic Club Hosts Mexican Independence Day Celebration

Oak Forest High School Hispanic Club students Bianca Ballinas and Jennifer Martinez, who are wearing traditional costumes, dance a traditional Mexican dance at the annual Mexican Independence Day celebration for Oak Forest High School world language students, hosted by the Hispanic Club.

The Hispanic Club students presented a PowerPoint describing the various historical heroes of the Mexican Independence Day.  Afterwards, Hispanic Club students taught Mexican dances like the cumbia to the world language students, who enjoyed the activity.

Hispanic Club is sponsored by Oak Forest High School teacher Danica Mathis.
