Woman Says Razor Blade Found in Her Breakfast
The discovery was made beneath eggs ordered at the Oak Forest McDonald's, police said.
Police said McDonald’s managers are going to review the tapes of their Oak Forest restaurant to find out how a razor blade wound up in a woman’s breakfast.
According to the Oak Forest police report, officers were called to a home in the 15200 block of Oxford Drive around 9:30 a.m. and shown where a blade had allegedly been discovered underneath eggs.
The manager of the Oak Forest McDonald’s told police that razors are used to "clean tight corners."

I would also say don't be too quick to assume it's a scam. A few years ago I found a razor blade in my nachos from the drive up window after I got it home and was eating it. I immediately called the restaurant to report it and was treated without any regard for concern, even by the manager. They simply asked me if I wanted my money back for it!!! I wanted them to get to the bottom of it, concerned that it was possibly intentional. I didn't call policy but I contacted corporate headquarters. I wasn't looking to sue, just for some explanation. Turns out (I was told) they use razor blades to open the bags of chips and one must have dropped in. They sent someone out to look at it and gave me $100 as a token of apology. It was months before I could trust food I didn't prepare.

Was it only coincidental that the person who found it was at home when they found it? Let's do a little more research before we verify where it came from.

totally agree. prob someone hopin for some lawsuit money. however; the manager should've never admitted they use razors in the restaurant. he should've checked the cameras first. the health department is going to have a field day with that. pretty sure the razors (if actually allowed in the restaurant) aren't allowed in food prep areas. Whoever did that should be facing felony charges. if it was an accident it woulda been inside the eggs, not under them. which makes it more believable that the customer put em there.

Well we already had a McDonalds employee try to get 15minutes of fame with a Lottery Ticket Scam.. It has been awhile since someone calimed they got burned with "hot"coffee.. or found a fingernail in their soup.. But jobs are scarce fo I would guess one needs to wonder why it has taken so long to have more "I found this" stuff happen!!

David...I would have to agree with you...To me, it would have been more plausible if a piece or a chip off of a razor blade would have been discovered with it being acknowledged that razor blades are used when cleaning tight corners...like the tight corners of the grill...where the eggs are made...I have dated a few Mc.D's employees....Smiling.

There is such a slim chance in hell that this could even be possible, knowing McDonald's procedures. Although I'm sure blades are used for scraping stickers off to clean or "cleaning tight corners", she didn't actually eat it or get an injury. People need to stop being so quick to pick up the phone & want media attention! No injury, get over it & spend your energy elsewhere! Maybe if you would have gotten up 15 minutes earlier to cook your own breakfast & spend quality time with your kids or husband, you wouldn't have to spend MORE time wasting McDonald's time! Anytime you can blame McDonald's for something, people get dollar $igns in their eyes!

well, just to say it is possible she went through the drive-thru and took the food home. We do it all the time. I mean, if the razor was put in there by an employee, what else are you going to do but report it from home? And then on the other hand, she might have put it there herself....there's just too many variables to make a definite accusation.

At a Wendy's once, I found a filthy rusty screw folded up in the waxed paper my burger was wrapped, that apparently came from the casing holding the warming lights above the counter. I told the person behind the counter and she said "Do you want another burger?" I was so disgusted I didn't do anything further. I should have sued them.

My husband once found a twist tie in his lasagna while we were eating in an Italian restaurant. We flagged down a manager, who condescendingly said that they don't have "loose twist ties laying around the kitchen" and then suggested that we had planted it. My husband emphatically denied it and told him that we didn't want a free meal or free dessert, we just wanted him to tell his kitchen staff to be more careful. We didn't make any further fuss about it, though my husband pushed his lasagna aside and filled up on bread and salad.

Galss was found in a salad at a dinner we attended a few yrs ago. A couple of incidences of hair (not mine) in food, small snail in a salad bar...all personally seen...and I didn't sue anybody for ptsd...so a razor in a salad, though sounds unlikely, is not all that far-fetched.

Good Lord, people! You're all freaking piranha! This story was NOT started by this woman, nor is she seeking a law suit!! She called the McDonald's where she purchased the meal, and the manager basically blew her off. Since she was not taken seriously by the establishment, she called the police, who made a full report and investigation, only to make sure that this was documented and that it did not happen to anyone else... like you fools! She did NOT go to the media...this story was picked up from the police blotter. Just because YOU may have wanted to get rich from this incident, should it have happened to you, don't assume that everyone is like you.

The same thing happened to my friend in Washington a couple of years ago. The razor blade was found when she bit into her burger between the meat and cheese. She took it back in. The employee took the burger to "examine it" and would not give it back to her...Voila!...no proof! They offered her coupons to make up for the mistake. NO thanks!! I found a fingernail - complete with bright pink nail polish - in a bowl of Wendy's chili once. Trying to not cause a scene, I quietly went up and asked to speak to a manager to let them know that their vat of chili was tainted. To my utter surprise and disgust, the manager offered to get me a replacement bowl of chili FROM THE SAME VAT! Needless to say, I declined and didn't eat at THAT particular Wendy's again. I also found good sized slivers of glass in ice cream one time. Again, I alerted the store where it was purchased to try to prevent someone else purchasing some of it and possibly getting hurt. I guess anything can happen with food prep - and yes, I know there are some people who are just crying wolf falsely - but it CAN happen.

its a fast food restraunt anything can be thrown in the food. There always in a rush and sometimes they give out wrong orders to people. It's Caotic in all fast food restruants. I once ordered a bic mac meal and when i bit it. there was a bone in the meat, i bit it so hard that my tooth got chipped. Of course I reported it to the manger and got offered a new meal for the bad burger. Didnt take it so i left. So needless to say I dont go to any fast food restraunts.
