UPDATE: Bloom Township's Kendall McGinnis is Patch MVP
Kendall McGinnis connected on a Hail Mary pass to lift Bloom past Thornwood 20-14 in the Trojans' football opener. Then, he outpolled 10 others in fan balloting for Patch MVP, Aug. 20-26. McGinnis now is eligible for Patch Athlete of the Month honors.

QB Matt Page of Brother Rice had a pretty decent day with 22 of 40 for 275 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Mark: Thanks for sharing Matt's stats from Week 1. I'm sure he'll be one to watch moving forward and perhaps a Patch MVP at some point, too.

Where is Bloom Township? Wouldn't think they are part of the Tinley Patch readers interest.

Where is Bloom Township? Really Mary? High school sports are a subject everyone can be interested in. Our basketball team made it to the final four last spring by beating teams such as those in your area.
