I like how the story says that the Miller Lite Free Rides program will help event attendees get home safely. From what I've read, all the Miller Lite Free Rides program will be doing is taking people from one bar to another from noon to 5.
How will this help these people get home? All it will do is allow them to get drunk and then at 5:00 they are on their own, drunk and driving their own vehicle.

wow, such anger...sad! Tis a great parade that we have always had a good time and no drunks in our crowd. Seems the only drunks we ever see are young kids that have not learned to behave in public. Our kids are polite, as in 90% of the people we run in too. Media blows up the 25 arrests but they forget to mention the 100's 0f 1000's that attend. Glad its back so our grandkids can enjoy. Wonder if you commented about the Ford City b.s.? Tis a great day on the So. Side on Sunday!! Can't wait!!

I had the same opinion as S R until met someone who lives near the parade route. She endured unbelievable behavior and destruction years before the media attention. Sure the Ford City incident was bad, but at least it isn't an annual event. I don't understand why people can't have a good time without ruining it for others.

S R,
I have to wonder what South Side Parade you were attending. I have been numerous times and there is nothing but drunks everywhere.
I have also talked to some that live around Western Ave. and the stories of dunks peeing and puking and even crapping in their yards was enough for me to change my mind as well.
It is unfortunate that a few people acting like idiots can make a fun event something that is no longer fun.

Were was the write up for ST Casimir Day,he did a heck alot more than St.Patrick for America,or how about a write up for St Joseph Day March 19,I guess the Poles and the Italians don't matter, what has happen to America?

Harry, seeing that St. Casmir lived and died in the 15th century, there's not much that he did for America. I believe you're confusing him with Casmir Pulaski, either way both were great men.

I have been to that parade only one a few years ago. I couldn't believe the things I saw. My sister lives around 115th & Western. The reason people are peeing everywhere, is that there is not enough porta potties to handle all the people that come. The lines were so long to use them.

@tired of bs. I'm tired of bs from crabby old people that claim to have human crap in their yard? Really? Not one person saw a naked butt? Our 120lb lab makes giant piles so we bring big bags when walking her. Maybe it was big dog. We are walkers that follow the parade until the end. We've only met happy & fun people. Maybe you should avoid events all together. Yay!! Can't wait for tomorrow!!! See ya bigmike!

S R,
You can believe whatever you want. I am just telling you what I have heard from folks that had to live through the South Side parade year after year.
I'm going to let you in on a little secret....when people are talking about jerks at an event and you look around and don't see any jerks, that means they are talking about you.

S R,
LOL!!! I guess the truth hurts, huh?
I went to the parade yesterday and what a difference it was! No drunks stumbling around, lot's of people enjoying a parade and nobody acting like an idiot.
