Starbucks, Panera, Chick-fil-a, Chipotle? Chipotle, Panera,Starbucks all at 159th and Harlem,,not going to happen. Chick fil a, the area's demographics do not fit their criteria for a store. Chipolte? Over priced poor excuse for Mexican food, "YUM" SERIOUSLY? A Sports Bar / Restaurant! Give Oliver's some MUCH needed competition! Give Oak Forest Residents more of choice for a restaurant other than pancake houses with a much needed revenue base with alcohol sales! A children's resale shop? Seriously? Go to Freecycle,,you can get / request anything your looking for there! Another Dollar Store PUUHHLEEZE! Oh and to those who are going to whine about how we don't NEED another Bar,,,Orland and Tinley's establishments are doing VERY WELL THANK YOU,, as is evident by the number of them. Where most Oak Forest residents go to eat out most of the time anyhow! Keep the revenue here!

I agree with David....all we have now are breakfast/lunch restaurants or fast food...we need a nicer bar/night club that will bring in some money.

Be cool to have a Half Priced Books somewhere in Oak Forest. The Hollywood store might be a little small for it though.

A nice restaurant more upscale with breakfast, lunch and dinner would be nice. I don't like that other place 2 blocks west. PLEASE, NO car stuff or banks or BARS we have too many of those too!

MMMMM,,,on 159 th. 1 Mexican Rest. with a bar, Oliver's Rest. with a bar. Cindy's Pub, just a bar. Oh,,and one liquor store in Golf View Plaza. We can use a nice Sports Bar / Rest. Just the job creation in conjunction with the sale of the church property and a medical facility going in (should it fall together),,,lunch crowd, after work meeting place, dinner,, 159th is NOT over crowded with bars! On Harlem alone from 151 st to Centennial Dr. there are 7 establishments that serve food and alcohol with bars. Try going to one of them on a Fri. thru Sat for dinner. They're packed! 2 actual rest. / bars compared to 7. I think there is room on 159th for one more. As for an upscale rest.? Kingsberry tried that,,didn't quite pan out. It's why they close at 3. You need to attract a younger working crowd who are sports minded to fill a place! hence Oliver's success!

A resale shop or a Starbucks are good suggestions. I don't think we need another bar in the area.

There's a Starbucks at 159/Harlem.

At 6:30 am, when heading for work downtown, 159th & Harlem might as well be in another galaxy.

Go to Dunkin Donuts! If you pay "beaucoup" $$$$ for a cup of joe,,going to Harlem and 159th. drive thru should be a moot point. @ Nancy,,simple demographics dear,,no need to get snippy. Whats making money,,,Oliver's ! Who's their competition? NONE! Sohpia's, Diamond's, Kingsberry's all close by 3pm. I believe Diamonds MAY be open later now. You fill an empty corner with a nice restaurant / sports bar you attract people.,people spending money ='s revenue. People grocery shop, stop for lunch. A dollar store was in that mall already,,,failed! Keep the Mayor's job. Just use simple common sense when trying to figure what will be attractive there and what will attract people. Your quick to snipe at me but yet you offer NO suggestion yourself!

I don't think a bar in that location next to a grocery store is the best idea. The book store sounds neat, or a Long John Silvers would be great. The nearest one of those in Orland closed, now if you want some fish , chips and A&w rootbeer, you have to go to matteson!! Just a suggestion..... :)

The dollar store previously in that plaza was an individually-owned place that had old creepy merchandise, greeting cards that were yellowed, etc. Probably a nice one would do well, as there are many apartment dwellers just east of that who would walk over there too. Maybe a nice sandwich/ice cream shop with booths and a counter service? Anything would be better than the now opened Car Title Loans just a bit west on 159th. Really? We needed a Car Title Loans free standing store? How can we attract some businesses that don't just cater to poor and desperate?

Our area could use a genuine ice cream shop. Baskin-Robbins sucks. Jack Frost is soft serve. We have to go to either Plush Horse (either Palos Park or the new one in Tinley) or Sam & Jake's for good old-fashioned ice cream.
