Ward by Ward: Police Calls in Oak Forest in February, Ward 1

With the help of the Oak Forest Crime Prevention Committee, Patch shares the city's calls for service for the month of February, broken down by ward.

Each week, Patch features items from reports on file at the Oak Forest Police Department. Although not all accounts are reported in the Patch police blotter, the Oak Forest Crime Prevention Committee compiles the number of calls of service monthly, by type and location.

This week, Patch gives you the rundown of what was called in and where during the month of February. See how your ward measures up. Patch will feature one ward per day over the next week. See how Ward 1 compares to others throughout the week, and check out how February's stats stack up to January. Unsure of which ward you live in? Visit Patch's Oak Forest 101—a quick summary of the most important facts about Oak Forest.

*Note, these statistics are gathered from the Oak Forest Police Department's Daily Call for Service Log reports.

These indicate calls for service, not criminal crime statistics.

Why is it that you never hear from the 4th ward Alderman? Or... when you do it's very little. Not happy.

G, do you know who the 4th ward alderman is? It is Chuck Toland and I am offering information on patch all the time. I also, have a 4th ward and city email list where I forward emails pertaining to the city all the time. If you would like to be added to my email list, please send me a note at ctoland@oak-forest.org, and I will be happy to add you to my updates list. Of course I am always available by phone at 708-671-5400 during the day, 708-687-7164 at home. I am rather surprised you mention lack of communication from me. The one thing I pride myself in is open communication with all the residents. I believe you can click on my name, and you will see all the posts I have written on this site. I believe I was one of the first people to had ever posted on here, and my email list is over 1000 strong.

In the summer, I drive and bike around the ward all the time stopping to talk with residents. I apologize if you never have had any contact with me. Let's get to know one another.

Chuck
