Wake up! Politicians tell you (the you they care about in that moment) what they think or their advisors think you want to hear. Neither presidential candidate cares about you. They do not care about much, except getting elected. For those of you who blame President Obama for not doing more, well we have a system of checks and balances that limits the power of the executive office. He campaigned on healthcare reform and he got it done. It is not as great as I would have liked it to be, but it is more than any other president has done in forty years. He campaigned on getting us out of Iraq - done. He even took out Bin Laden. Do I think he has done enough? No, I did expect more, but the fact that some deny that he has done anything is just inaccurate. The fact is that Obama is not to blame for our current state of the union. Bush is also not completely to blame, although he didn't help matters. Our downward spiral began with terrible trade policies with China and unfair tax laws that benefit the power elite and obviously do not trickle down. We were sold out and neither the repubs or dems are going to fix it because they are both more rich and powerful than we regular folks will ever be. They want to get elected and they will promise anything to reach that end. What all politicians love is when we begin arguing amongst ourselves about the wrong things.

I overheard three college age kids talking at the grocery store yesterday.
