RNC Jockeying Raises Question: Who's the Best GOP Nominee for Illinois Governor?

More than a half-dozen gubernatorial wannabes work the room at the Republican National Convention this week. Who would you like to see make a run for governor?

While the main events at the Republican National Convention centered around Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, a subtle undercard was the jockeying of would-be GOP candidates for Illinois governor, the Chicago Tribune reports.

State Treasurer Dan Rutherford was "highly visible" at the RNC in Tampa, according to the Tribune article by Rick Pearson. Rutherford heads up the Romney campaign in Illinois.

Kirk Dillard of Hinsdale, who finished a close second to Bloomington's Bill Brady in the 2010 primary race for governor, has been a prominent face, as well. Dillard wasn't a delegate, but he made the trip to Tampa, just the same.

Other gubernatorial wannabes mentioned in the Tribune article include U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock of Peoria, state Sen. Christine Radogno of Lemont and Bruce Raunere, chairman of the private equity firm GTCR

Bill Brady would have won in 2010, were it not for vote fraud in Cook (Crook) County

Keep telling yourself that. Obviously it has to be fraud since you can't comprehend the outcome. The actual numbers of fraud are minicscule and Federal courts are seeing through the Republican smoke and mirrors and are throwing out cases nationwide. Unless you have verifiable statistics.... boy it's quiet in here....

Bill Brady would have won in 2010 if he gave people a real reason to vote FOR him instead of against Quinn. Rutherford, Topinka and Kirk all won that year, so people were willing to vote Republican. There were also 4 targeted House races that year and the GOP won 5.

This link shows the fear of the GOP this year. My favorite is Nevada, they're suing to remove "None of the above" from the ballot because they're pretty sure that it will draw away more potential Romeny supporters than Dems!

Mr. Voter fraud, during a five year period during the last decade 196,000,000 votes were cast, there were 86 cases of voter fraud (.000043% of votes cast)

Dan Rutherford has an early lead in the Patch poll, but Kirk Dillard is right behind.

Adam Andrzejewski should have been on that list.

Looks like another failure there Mr. President! How pathetic you are. We are burying 4 people today because you and Hillary required them to use "rubber bullets"!

Dillard is simply "likeable." That's it. What has he done and what can he do differently as Governor if he's done nothing of consequence as our State Senator?
