In voting for Southland Patch's MVP for Sept. 9-16, who gets the biggest roar from the crowd?
Sandburg soccer standout Zack Biel helped the Eagles notch a second-place finish in the Lincoln-Way Invitational. Biel scored two goals in Sandburg's 3-0 victory over Marist.
Lincoln-Way Central's Maria Brown delivered one of her best performances against a district rival and a team coached by her mother, Mary. Maria had eight kills, seven digs and two blocks in Lincoln-Way Central's 25-20, 25-23 victory over the Phoenix. And, yes, her mother was proud of her—just in a strange way.

C'mon. folks! This HAS to go to "Touchdown Tina" Shelstrom!
At Stagg's Junior and Senior Powder Puff game on Wednesday Evening she ran for two touchdowns on two carries, one for about 10 yards and the other about 50! She had a tackle to boot!

The score was 27-7 seniors over juniors, so they only let her run twice so as not to embarrass the younger Chargers.

What could top that?LOL

Bloom Township has two teams on their schedule with winning records and one of the teams is Crete-Monee. We going to take them down just like in past seasons, that 4-1 record is full of cupcakes & weak teams. My son's freshman team could beat Fenton & Philips.
