One Teen Charged in ABC Wireless Burglary

A Robbins teenager, one of two suspects arrested early Wednesday morning after a burglary and standoff at ABC Wireless in Midlothian, is being held without bail following the crime. Charges against the second suspect are expected, Sun-Times Media reports.

Rashawn Taylor, 17, of Robbins, was charged with burglary and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after an incident early Wednesday morning at ABC Wireless, 3328 W. 147th St. Taylor is currently being held without bond, Sun-Times Media reports.

Taylor is being held without bail due to allegedly violating a previous bail for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and residential burglary charges, according to the report.

Taylor and another teen broke into the store through a front window, according to police reports. One of the two boys was holding a handgun, which prompted officers to call in the South Suburban Emergency Response Team, which surrounded the building.

The SSERT tried communicating with the two suspects for more than five hours, before entering the store and taking the suspects without incident.

Taylor will appear in court again on Feb. 28, while charges are expected for the other suspect, according to the report.
