After Sneaky Phone Call, Purse Snatched from Apartment

Now, Where's My Purse?
Police were called to the 14700 block of Central Avenue after a resident in the apartment complex saw a black purse in the trash of the laundry room of the building. The person who found the purse saw that it belonged to a neighbor and turned it into the lost and found.
At the scene, police were told by the victim that somebody called their apartment the day before and they did not answer the phone. When the victim did not answer the phone, they said they heard the back door of their apartment open. The victim said they checked the noise and noted the back door open, at which point they closed and locked the door.
The victim said the call came from an apartment in the complex, and the office manager of the complex said they would look into who lived in the apartment. Missing from the stolen purse was $10, $10 in raffle tickets and two credit cards. The cards were canceled by the victim's husband.
Threatening Voice Mail From an Ex
A victim of a harassment went to police after a threatening cell phone message from an ex-boyfriend. The victim told police the suspect left a message threatening violence. The suspect is on parole for burglary and has an extensive criminal background. The victim signed complaints and an order of protection.
Stolen Catalytic Converters
Police were told a catalytic converter was taken between 11:40 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. from a car at the Arbor Metra Lot, at the corner of 159th Street and Oak Avenue. At the 157th Street Metra Lot, between 6:40a.m. and 5:50 p.m., another catalytic converter was stolen.
