Oak Forest Implements Water-Use Restrictions
Mayor Hank Kuspa says increased demand during the extended hot weather can impact city water reserves.
Residents are now under restrictions limiting outdoor water use to evening hours, the City of Oak Forest announced today.
“Although current reserves are still holding up, the extended hot weather coupled with high demand can impact the reserves,” said Mayor Hank Kuspa in a statement to the media.
Kuspa said the City of Oak Forest is joining with Oak Lawn and other nearby towns in limiting water use to ensure enough supply is available in an emergency.
Using water outside is limited to 7-11 p.m. on odd or even days, based on the last digit of the resident's address.
