New Deputy Chief of Police, Sergeant Sworn Into Duty

With an official swearing in, new Deputy Chief Dominic D'Ambrosio begins in his role.

Just call him Deputy Chief D'Ambrosio.

With a swearing in by City Clerk Scott Burkhardt, Dominic D'Ambrosio officially became the new deputy chief of the Oak Forest Police Department.

D'Ambrosio has been with the Oak Forest Police since 2002. He began as a patrolman until he became the department's first full-time tactical investigator and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2009. City officials approved his promotion from sergeant to deputy chief at a Jan. 24 meeting. He fills a deputy chief position that has been vacant since last July.

Officer Tom Lynch, who was promoted to fill D'Ambrosio's sergeant role, was also sworn in during Tuesday's meeting.

Police Chief Greg Anderson stood by as the officers recited their oath.

"We now have an outstanding deputy chief, and an outstanding sergeant who will serve the community of Oak Forest for a very long time, and will serve it well," Anderson said.
