Name this Bird Spotted in Oak Forest

Have you seen this type of bird around Oak Forest before?

Oak Forest resident and Patch reader Jim Keane spotted this giant bird keeping a watchful eye on his 11-year-old Shih tzu earlier this week.

Any idea what type of bird it is, readers?

Did you know there were bald eagles recently spotted in Oak Forest?

Could be a Cooper's Hawk, hard to tell for sure from this photo. I've seen many of them around Oak Forest, and they don't appear to fear humans.

I'm not positive, but it looks like a Red-Tailed hawk.

It is definitely a Cooper's or Sharp Shinned Hawk. The tail feathers are striped. Red Tails tail feathers are rust colored and longer.
