Medina Signs Movie Deal: Who Should Play the 'American Idol' Singer?
The film, set for release in 2014, will tell the story of how Oak Forest's Chris Medina and his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, dealt with an accident that left Ramos with a brain injury.
Oak Forest resident Chris Medina made a name for himself on the small screen thanks to his performances on American Idol in 2011. Medina made it to the top 40 before being eliminated from the show. Now, he's bringing his story to the big screen after signing a movie deal Tuesday.
The film, which will be a first production for entertainment company MCS41, will be centered around how Medina and his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, dealt with a 2009 car accident that left Ramos with a severe brain injury.

"The moment of truth is here!!!" Medina, 29, wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday, March 12. "The big news I have been dying to share with you!!! … Juliana and I just signed a Major Motion Picture contract!!! It is going to be a movie based on our story; our triumphs and tragedies!!!"
The movie will be titled What Are Words, which also is the title of his first single from 2011. It's set to be released in 2014, and Medina will perform in a series of concerts across the country leading up to the film's premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, according to a release from the film's executive producer, Jim Schramm, posted on Medina's Facebook page.
"Juliana will also be receiving significant support as a result of this project that will assist her to lead the best possible life that she can," Schramm wrote in the release.
