Girls Basketball: Oak Forest Captures Regional Championship

Two seniors played lead roles in Oak Forest's 46-43 girls basketball victory over Rich South in the championship game of the Class 3A Evergreen Park Regional on Thursday night.
Katie Swanson scored 20 points to pace the Bengals (18-10). Courtney Kachlik added a career-high 16 points.
The regional title was the second for the Oak Forest girls basketball team since 1996.
The Bengals move on to face Hillcrest on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Class 3A Hillcrest Sectional. The Hawks advanced with a 79-49 victory over Providence Catholic.
