Two Robbins teens will be charged with burglary Wednesday, after they attempted to rob a Midlothian cell phone store Tuesday night, according to reports.
The two were taken into custody after a five-hour wait for them to surrender. Both were seen inside the ABC Wireless store at 3328 W. 147th St. Officers saw two suspects inside the store—one of whom appeared to be holding a weapon, according to a press release from Midlothian police.
Officers called in the South Suburban Emergency Response Team, who surrounded the store around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers tried to contact the two suspects in the store, but failed. After five hours, police entered the store around 2:30 a.m. and took the two boys into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered at the scene, according to the release.
An investigation is ongoing.
