Masked Man with Gun, Accomplices Rob Oak Forest Liquor Store
A man jumped over the counter of Foremost Liquors in Oak Forest, flashing a gun and ordering an employee to the ground before robbing the register Aug. 27. A second suspect pulled out a bat, before a third appeared and all three fled the scene.
A masked, gun-toting man ordered an employee at Foremost Liquors, 15211 S. Cicero, to the ground before emptying the register, as an accomplice held another employee at bay with a baseball bat, according to police reports.
Two black men dressed in black entered the store—one armed with a gun, employees told police Aug. 27. The armed, masked man pulled on a pair of gloves before pillaging the register, as a second man wielded a baseball bat grabbed from behind the counter. A third man entered the store, and all three fled the scene in a white, windowless van with a "large, yellow smudge" on the back door. Police were called to the scene around 8 p.m.
Employees described the armed suspect as a black male, approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall, in his mid-30s, wearing a black shirt, black pants and black mask. The second is described as a black male, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, stocky build, in a black shirt, black pants and black stocking cap. A third man involved is described as a black male, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, in a grey hooded sweatshirt.
A witness told police the van traveled east on 152nd Street.
The case is under investigation.
