Chicago Man Charged in Crash that Killed Oak Forest Woman
Christopher Dellutri, 32, of Chicago, is being charged by Alsip police following a car crash Jan. 12, that resulted in the death of Colleen Palermo, 37, of Oak Forest. Palermo died six days after the crash at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
A Chicago man is facing police charges following an accident that left an Oak Forest woman dead and him under medical care, after a Jan. 12 accident in Alsip, Sun-Times Media reports.
Christopher Dellutri, 32, was driving a car in which Colleen Palermo, 37, was a passenger, when the car crashed into the back of a semi truck's trailer, injuring Palermo. Dellutri is charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Alsip police.
Palermo and Dellutri had to be extracted from a Ford Taurus Dellutri was driving following the crash at 6 a.m., Jan. 12, are the intersection of Cicero Avenue and 128th Street, police said. The semi truck driver was uninjured in the accident.
Dellutri is still under medical care at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where both he and Palermo were taken following the crash. Palermo died six days later as a result of her injuries, according to the report.
Alcohol was ruled out as a cause of the crash after a police investigation, the report said.
A court date has not yet been set, due to Dellutri's medical condition.
