Russian Dance Troupe Performs Oak Forest High School
Oak Forest High School Assistant Principal Dr. Savka Mladenovich announced that the Russian dance troupe Barynya presented a program to Academic and talented students recently. Barynya presented Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Jewish, and Gypsy Roma traditional dancing. During the program, dancers taught students basic Russian phrases such as hello, goodbye and thank you, as well as Russian tongue twisters. They taught students about the bear, which is the symbol of Russia, like the American Eagle is to America. Also, they played various traditional Russian stringed and percussion instruments.
